All our chocolates are gluten free and all our dark chocolate is dairy free and vegan friendly. The majority of our chocolate is nut free at point of manufacture but we do use nuts on the premises so we do not guarantee free from traces of nuts. Some of our chocolate varieties contain soya lecithin. Allergens are listed on the individual product pages. Please ask us if you are unsure.
Couverture is chocolate that only contains the natural constituents of the cocoa bean (cocoa butter and cocoa solids) together with some added sugar (unless it is 100% cocoa). It has a high cocoa butter content, which makes it flow well when making chocolates, and no added butter fats or vegetable oils.
If it is a milk chocolate, then it will contain milk and sometimes natural vanilla and/or a soya or sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier. Our Belgian chocolate contains soya lecithin; our high cocoa chocolates and vegan “milk” chocolate contain sunflower lecithins or none at all.
Not very long as it’s usually eaten! But more seriously: all our solid chocolates, i.e. bars, hot chocolates and chocolate buttons, will be fine for 6 months to a year. Dipped fruits and nuts usually have a shelf life of around 3 months but this may vary. Our filled chocolates are made without preservatives so usually have a shelf life of around 4 weeks.

We aim to dispatch survival supplies chocolate boxes and kits as soon after your order as possible by first class post so you should receive them within 5 days. At busy times it may take longer. If your order includes truffles or filled chocolates, they are made to order and we aim to dispatch within 3 days. If you require delivery by a specific date, please let us know and order well in advance if possible. PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER SOME DELIVERIES ARE TAKING LONGER DUE TO BOTH VOLUME OF ORDERS AND THE POSTAL SERVICE. PLEASE ORDER EARLY IF YOU CAN.

We have kits suitable for all ages from 3 year olds to adults. Younger children will need supervision and may need assistance when melting chocolate. Most of our kits can be enjoyed by everyone at their own level. Age guidance for each kit is given in the descriptions.
All the ingredients and materials are included, but you will require a means of melting the chocolate. This can be either hot water, a hairdryer or a microwave. Other than that, you will need a spoon and a cup or bowl depending on how you choose to heat the chocolate. For some kits, you will also require a pair of scissors.
Most kits made using dark chocolate are vegan (please check the description or contact us if you are unsure). We also stock a vegan cashew nut based milk chocolate which we will be using in some of our kits. If you can’t see one listed yet, please ask.
If you are ordering a kit you do not intend to use immediately, or you require a dairy free or vegan truffle, you should order a kit that allows you to make up your own ganache according to the instructions. This will require you to use water, cream or a non-dairy milk which is not included in the ingredients.
If you would prefer not to make up the ganache yourself or you are unable to get out to purchase cream or butter, you should choose the version of the kit which comes with ready-made ganache. This kit will have a shelf life of 4 weeks.

Kits will be made available to purchase for live stream workshops 1 – 2 weeks in advance. When you purchase the kit, you will be given instructions on how to join the workshop.
